Housemade Japanese Furikake Seasoning

A umami-loaded seasoning packed with flavor from sesame seeds, bonito flakes, and dried nori.

Ingredients

Prep | Serves 4
1/4 cup McCormick Culinary ® Sesame Seeds, White
2 tbsps McCormick Culinary ® Sesame Seeds, Black
2 tbsps Bonito Flakes
3 each Nori Sheets
2 tsps Sugar
2 tsps McCormick Culinary ® Sea Salt, Mediterranean Fine Grind

Procedure

Prep

In a dry sauté pan over medium heat toast sesame seeds. Remove from heat and cool completely.
In a food processor combine toasted sesame seeds, bonito flakes, nori. sugar, and sea salt. Pulse until well blended. Store in an airtight container.
