In a heavy bottom sauce pan over high heat bring cola to a simmer and reduce by half. Remove from heat and chill.
In a bowl, whisk together reduced cola and BBQ sauce. Add the cowboy rub whisk again until well blended. Hold refrigerated for service.
Drain wings and place in a bowl. Toss with 1/3 cup sauce. Serve hot alongside desired accompaniments.
Chef's Tip!
This is a great finishing sauce for any smoked meat or use as a condiment on burgers and sandwiches. If you are able to use straight cola syrup, you can use 1/4 as much and get a great flavor.
